Demand for the Mobile Pet Grooming

People love their pets, but neither Cat, Rover, nor their owners enjoy the cleaning and grooming process. But if you love your pets and have that special flair that makes them behave, you too can brag to everyone with a mobile pet grooming service.

You arrive at your client’s home in a special van, hop in with Boots and your dog, and work wonders. The beauty of this business is that you can start part-time, the income potential is great, and you get to work with animals every day.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, over 58 million American families have a dog or cat. Caring for pets requires a lot of experience, from using the right clamps to preparing information about animal breeds and behaviors.

You also need to know about human behavior. When owners take their four-legged friends to a traditional grooming salon, they often have to leave before the job is done, but if you walk down their aisle, they’ll want to see how you’re received.

Market

Your clients may be dog or cat owners, so distribute your brochures and business cards to pet stores and veterinary clinics. Introduce yourself, leave your materials and ask for referrals. Place an ad in the tabloid section of your local newspaper and in the pet grooming section of the local yellow pages under “Pets.”

Equipment needed

You’ll need a camper (or used camper if you already have one), a bathroom to set up pet grooming, a grooming table, a generator or outdoor power cord long enough to provide electricity outside, and all the mobile pet grooming tools and supplies.
